People always enjoy playing rounders with playmakers. We switch over the batters and fielders once every child has had a go, I love playing rounders because we can play as well while watching over the game.

  2. Earlier we had a dance festival at Heritage High and it was right good! We danced to Greatest Showman By Hugh Jackman ! I Loved it ! We were power full ! Most importantly Lee and Frankie nailed it !

  3. This is Poppy I am talking about a competition of girls football. We played at Shirebrook Academy and the people that came were: Me, Willow, Emilea, Abbie, Sara, Kelsey and Cady. We played 3 matches against 3 teams and won 2 the first we won 2-1 and the second we won 1-0 and then we tried so hard but didn’t win- unfortunately. We tried so so hard but we did not win they beat us 2-0.

    Y5/6 Basketball

On Wednesday 17th January, Mr Smithurst took a group of Y5/6s to Heritage High School for a basketball competition against Whitwell.
After a hectic journey (because of a pepperami disaster), the group finally arrived for warmup and practise before the games.
After the warmup, it was time for the three round game. We won all three, with scores of: 8-4, 8-2 and 18-8, making the overall score of 3-0.
Because we won the entire tournament, we all received a medal and a certificate. It was a great competition and we all really enjoyed it.

Y3 Promotional Video At The ARC
0n Wednesday 24th January, Mrs Musson, Miss Schofield, Mrs Askew and Mrs Stringfellow took our Y3 children to the Arc for a promotional video.
They had to wear their Five60 P.E kits to journey the freezing cold walk there and back. When they arrived, they were greeted by three familiar faces – Craig, James and Jordan from Five60.
They did lots of fun activities throughout the afternoon: dodgeball, table tennis, bowls, some sort of pool and a race on a bouncy castle slide.
One Y3 said “It was lots of fun but the best game was dodgeball.”
Everyone agreed they would do it again because it sounded like a great day out.

in PE we did a lot of things like gym things

  11. Hi! I’ve put EVER so much effort into this so please reply and see what you think of this report. =) In P.E lately, we have been doing lots of interesting gymnastic routines. Usually, we will be put into teams of 5 or 6, and we are told to create a routine within 5 minutes. It really helps everyone get used to teamwork and resisting arguing with the rest of the group! Mrs O’Connor does really interesting lessons for us. Sometimes we play team games like Bench Ball or Tiggy Scarecrow. These things in P.E are incredibly fun! Bye!!!!!!!

    • Oh, I forgot to mention P.E on the field. We haven’t done this in a while, but we will normally run around the field as a warm-up, then we will take some equipment, get into teams, and make a fun game. This is only most of the time though. When Mrs O’Connor doesn’t choose to do this, we will play a little bit of Rounders instead! I hope you enjoyed this blog! =)

    Wonderful Winners!!!

At the beginning, each team played two practise games. The first practise match was Clowne against Hodthorpe and the second was Clowne against Whitwell.
Soon after, we began the proper matches the first one being Clowne vs Hodthorpe and the second match was Clowne vs Whitwell.
Suddenly, a few seconds into the game Dylan Jackson scored an amazing goal (actually, Dylan scored all our goals in the first half.) At the halftime break it was 3-0 to Clowne.
Next the second half began. Soon Lucy Storey scored, then Edward Swann scored a brilliant goal and we won the game 5-0.
During the second game, we almost scored numerous times. However Elle Cowperthwaite scored a super goal. Then we began the second half. Unfortunately, we did not score but Dylan Jackson nearly got a goal.
Luckily, Whitwell had not scored throughout the game, meaning we won overall with 1-0.

First we played a few little games but the scores from them didn’t matter. Then it came to the proper matches, for the first one we got to half time and Dylan had already scored three goals against Hodthorpe ! Then it got to the second half and Lucy had scored one and Dylan also got one. We won the first match 5-0.
Then it was time to play against Whitwell. Elle got one goal as she was playing very very good. Then we had half time and we were determined to win this match. We went into the second half and unluckily we got no more goals but it wasn’t so bad as we won that match 1-0 thanks to Elle.
All together Clowne won thanks to everyone’s hard work!

  27. Basket ball is excellent and also hard. I always play it because it is the best bit about school

    Basketball Tournament Match report
To begin with we all played a couple of test matches which we won rather easily, beating Hodthorpe 3 – 0 and Barlborough 3 – 2
Then it came to the real matches. We played Hodthorpe again and won 6 – 0, Dylan Jackson scoring a whopping 4 and Rachel Spink scoring 2.
To win we just had to beat Barlborough. The whole team played extremely well and Christopher Swann ended up getting a great shot straight into the basket but Barlborough managed to equalise.
At full time it was 2 – 2 so we went to shoot outs. First to take for us was Harvey Needham-Smith and, with a great shot, he got us level, as they had already scored. Next up was Dylan Jackson. Unfortunately, his shot just missed but it didn’t matter because Barlborough then also missed. Luke, Chris then Rachel all scored for us. It was a draw! Time for Sudden Death.
Because Barlborough missed their first shot, all Tyler needed to do was score and he absolutely buried it. Clowne were the winners for the 3rd year in a row!
